The Courtyard is in a secluded position in the grounds of Holmby House with a two acre enclosed garden, tennis court, table tennis, croquet lawn and outdoor heated swimming pool. The main garden and all the facilities are for the exclusive use of guests staying in The Courtyard. It is situated on the edge of the small North Oxfordshire village of Sibford Ferris. Recently voted by the Times as the No. 1 Village in South England, the village is on the edge of the Cotswolds, surrounded by beautiful undulating countryside. With its close proximity to Soho Farmhouse, Daylesford Farmshop, Bicester Village, Oxford, Chipping Norton and Stratford upon Avon, the location offers a wealth of shopping and sightseeing opportunities.
The house comprises of newly renovated luxury accommodation, all on one floor.
There is a large impressive sitting room with views of the gardens, swimming pool and the hills beyond. The dining room can seat up to 12 people, with French doors leading onto a small, west facing terrace where you can enjoy beautiful sunsets.
There are four double bedrooms, all en-suite: 1 double, 1 twin and 2 that can be made up as twins or doubles. All have high quality beds and linen and are tastefully furnished with antiques. Towels and toiletries are provided, as well as swimming towels when the pool is open. All the rooms have either en-suite bathrooms or shower rooms with power showers, and there is an 5th shower room off the sitting room for anyone using the sofa bed. There is a phone line with broadband in The Courtyard, with enhanced wireless network access throughout the property. There is a large LCD WiFi TV in the sitting room, and small TVs in the bedrooms.
Outside
The main terrace is east facing and the outside sofas and chairs provide an ideal place for sunny breakfasts and coffee.
French doors from the sitting room open up to a balcony from which steps lead down to the swimming pool terrace, where there are BBQ facilities, sunbeds, poolside dining table and ping pong. Our newly-installed sauna and cold plunge tub are also accessed from here.
Up to 3 dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, subject to a small charge. The fully enclosed garden provides a safe haven for free range dogs and children, and the adjacent field is part of the property with paths meandering around the four acres. There is a pond and stream, fed by a spring at the top of the field. It is an ideal place to exercise dogs.
There are stunning views over the carefully-tended gardens and beyond, with lovely walks and cycling routes from the doorstep. Bicycles can be hired locally and delivered to the house. There is a well stocked village shop a two minute walk away, and an excellent gastro pub in the village.
